4Wurdz Flash Call for Entries

4Wurdz Flash!

Is an opportunity for you to get your flash fiction published in an Omnibus. The Call for entries runs between  January 31st and March 31st, 2017 .

Submit your entries here….

What do I need to do?

Have a “Print ready” manuscript of between 750 and 1,000 words in a MS. Word format. Pay the entry fee of $17.50 per story. You can enter as many times as you want. All entry fees are non refundable.

We want you to have fun with it. Flash fiction narratives are great, but we also consider things like lists, open letters, marginalia, etcetera.
We want text-based pieces, no images or paintings with random words on them. You shouldn’t submit anything that is dependent on font sizes or formatting options! Should your work be selected for publication we will contact you for a brief third-person bio which will be included with your story. We will also contact you for your mailing address to send your copy of the book.

Terms and Conditions

Submissions must be unpublished, original work. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but you must withdraw your story immediately if it is accepted elsewhere.

We ask for first serial rights on any story we publish. This means that the story should not have appeared anywhere else, either in print or online. (This includes publication on an author’s own website.) When we publish a story, we ask for a brief period of exclusivity (usually six months), and the right to keep the story in print (both physical and as part of a Kindle book). We don’t ask for website rights, or
place any limits on what you can do with your story after the exclusivity period. You own your work.

We will consider stories that are between 750 and 1,000 words in length; please do not send anything longer or shorter than this. They will not be considered.

Timeline

The Call for entries will run from January 31, 2017 until  March 31st Midnight (CST).

The entries will be reviewed with the winners announced May 31.  Flash, The compilation should be available in print June 2017.

We aim to reply to all submissions within two weeks, although we will sometimes go slightly over this during busy periods or holidays.
If you’re waiting for a reply from us, please keep an eye on your junk mail folder, as our replies do sometimes make their way there. If you
submitted more than three weeks ago, and have not heard back from us, please check your junk mail folder again. If there’s nothing there, email us: submissions@4wurdz.com. It would be very helpful if you indicated when you purchased your entry and the email you used.
